Location
The Titilaka Hotel occupies a unique site on a private peninsula jutting out into Lake Titicaca, the cradle of Andean civilisation. At over 4000m in altitude, Lake Titicaca is not only the highest navigable body of water in the world, but is South America’s largest lake.
Accommodation
The lodge is a boutique property with just 18 rooms, all of which face the lake. Depending on which side of the hotel you are on, you will see either the sunrise or the sunset through your huge picture windows. Lie out on the day bed and enjoy the panorama. The ensuite bathrooms have underfloor heating, a shower, and a separate bathtub.
When you step outside your room, you’ll find the hotel has wrap-around terraces, three lounges, a games room, a restaurant, and a well-stocked bar. You can wander out onto the two private beaches, or set sail directly from the hotel’s jetty.

There’s a wide choice of places to dine: we favour a table out on the terrace, where butlers will serve you lake trout and other highlights of contemporary Andean cuisine. Indoors, the house restaurant has huge windows offering a panoramic vista of the lake through which you can watch the changing light on the lake and the shadows on the snow-capped peaks beyond.
The hotel is known for being a great example of economically sustainable tourism practices by prioritising the employment of local people, sourcing food and décor from nearby, and taking guests on trips to local markets. The management are engaged in fundraising for local charities.
