The vast, flat Gangtey Valley is unlike other valleys in Bhutan, which tend to be remote and enclosed. The uniqueness of the Gangtey Valley landscape has allowed exotic wildlife to flourish; keep an eye out for the endangered black-necked crane which calls this valley home, even whilst you’re stood on the terrace or looking out from your window.
Recently voted the 5th best hotel in Asia, Gangtey Lodge gives guests an interactive insight into the unique culture of Bhutan’s Gangtey Valley. Sweeping views and plush interiors make this a cosy Himalayan retreat with lashings of sophisticated, yet still traditional, style.
The interior design of the rooms reflects the distinct rural architecture of this valley, right down to the earthen tones of the bathtub. Each of the 12 guestrooms has its own cosy fireplace, large windows, and gorgeous views of the valley beyond.

The lodge’s open-plan communal spaces also feature large fireplaces encased in stone. Gangtey Lodge, with its leather sofas and roaring fires, will welcome you fondly into its arms after a packed day of Himalayan adventures.

Environment
Gangtey’s ‘Green Team’ are a dedicated group that are responsible for the lodge’s environmental responsibilities. One of their many projects is a commitment to protect and enhance the biodiversity of Phobjikha Valley, as part of this project, they plant over 100 trees per year in the surrounding forest.
Community
Gangtey Lodge hires locally and promotes from within. This empowers the local community and brings opportunity and skill development to an otherwise remote area. Further to their efforts, the lodge implements various projects throughout the year, from donating produce from the gardens to those in need to assisting elderly members of the community in maintaining their homes.
