Cusco, Peru
JW Marriot
With one of Cusco’s only swimming pools, and with an elegant and sophisticated style that is almost more museum or art gallery than hotel, the JW Marriot is one of the most desirable places to rest and reside in the capital city of the Inca Empire.

Location
The JW Marriot hotel benefits from a great spot in Cusco, being only a five minute walk from the Plaza de Armas and yet, despite its central location, it is very peaceful. When you learn that it is converted 16th century convent, you will understand the inherent serenity.
Accommodation
The wonderful experiences at the JW Marriot commence as soon as you enter the hotel lobby, which literally glows – helped by more than 70,000 tiny pieces of Swarovski crystal – in the style of an Incan sun temple.
This and other features of the restored convent, such as the 26 brick-arched internal courtyard, is why public tours are given each afternoon.

The 153 rooms, including seven suites, are stylish and well-appointed with bespoke furniture. They have extra soundproof windows and ventilation systems allowing for extra oxygen (on request) if you have recently arrived at this altitude. If you are an archaeology buff, we suggest that you ask for the room with an original Inca wall.
Pirqua, the hotel’s restaurant, is a place of elegant fine dining. You will love the chef’s take on Peruvian and Andean cuisine, especially his use of the varieties of quinoa. For the less adventurous, a bar menu of international standbys is available.

Experiences
- You will be pampered in the hotel’s spa where staff use altiplano herbs and traditions. There is an indoor heated pool, a sauna, steam room and whirlpool. Check out the musical shower!
- For an exciting alternative dining experience, we recommend the nearby vegetarian restaurant Comida Vegetariano.
- The artworks on the walls of the hotel are regularly changed, partly because every piece is for sale.
- The basement of the hotel is home to an archaeological site displaying Inca ceramics. Guests can enjoy a free tour daily at 6pm.
- Discover why Peru has more than 2000 species of potato by taking a trip to the amazing circular Moray terraces. These were an ancient agricultural laboratory.
