Location
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only lodge actually inside Lake Manyara National Park and is one of the most luxurious small lodges in Tanzania. The crescent shaped Lake Manyara National Park is relatively small, covering approximately 315km ² but is scenically spectacular.
Accommodation
The ten imaginatively designed tree house suites (including an interleading family treehouse suite) are made of local timber and set on stilts among huge mahogany trees. Each suite is elegantly furnished with a comfortable bed, sitting area and an en-suite bathroom with a luxury bath, as well as an outdoor shower and a large viewing deck which faces out across the rich forest surrounding you.
Between safaris you can relax in the comfortable lounge areas of the camp or take a dip in the refreshing pool. For further relaxation, there is a spa suspended above the forest floor. The lodge also has its own safari shop, where you can contribute to the development of the nearby communities by buying artwork handmade by local craftsmen.
Choose to dine in your private suite or in the communal outdoor dining area under the emerald canopy. This authentic dining space, known as a forest boma, features traditional dug-out canoes for you to sit in while you eat. There is also an interactive kitchen where guests are encouraged to observe and engage in the preparation of delicious Tanzanian and international dishes.

Lake Manyara’s parent company, &Beyond was formed in 1991 with the goal of successfully demonstrating that a financially sound, wildlife-based tourism operator could make a significant contribution to conservation and biodiversity, whilst also promoting sustainable community development. Falling back on the true definition of responsible travel; travel that not only positively impacts the land and its wildlife, but also the people who live in and around these wildlife areas, they have achieved this goal.
Environment
A considerable amount of daily intervention by &Beyond is required to help maintain a harmonious balance in the fragile ecosystems within which they operate. Doing things in sustainable ways allows Mother Nature to run her course and maintain this balance.
Community
&Beyond’s camps contribute to local economies through local procurement and employment. A minimum of 50% of lodge operational expenses are sourced from small local businesses, whilst at least 65% of staff are from neighbouring communities.
