Location
Loisaba Star Beds is set on a rocky kopje in the 57,000 acre Loisaba Conservancy in central Kenya. It offers dramatic views across the stunning panorama of the Laikipia Plains all the way to Mount Kenya and the Matthews Mountain Range.
Accommodation
Accommodation comprises four rooms, separated by wooden walkways, where you’ll find the star beds.
Each has a dramatic, raised wooden platform that overlooks the Laikipia plateau and a waterhole regularly frequented by hippo - this spot is where you will sleep come nightfall.
The handcrafted four poster mukokoteni (a uniquely designed bed on wheels) is rolled out onto the deck for your night under the stars. (It can also be left under the shelter of the roof if there is an unexpected change in the weather.)

Just because you are immersed in the vast wilderness of Kenya, it doesn’t mean that you have to miss out on comforts. Each room has its own private sitting area along with an en-suite, open-to-air bathroom with flush toilet and hot solar-heated shower.
Service and privacy here are unrivalled with guests benefitting from their own personal “guest ambassador”, a private guide and vehicle for the duration of your stay.
In addition to the star beds, which are an entirely private experience, there are separate areas shared between the guests. These include a dining area, and a lounge with polished wooden floors and high ceilings, decorated in an authentic Kenyan style.

- You will be warmly hosted by local Samburu and Laikipiak warriors - dressed in traditional attire, they will be thrilled to regale you with stories about the bush and their way of life.
