The Matusadona National Park is a semi-circular region of hills, valleys and escarpments on the southern shore of Lake Kariba and has good populations of elephant, buffalo, antelope and predators, most notably lion and cheetah.
In the water are large pods of snorting, yawning hippopotamus and crocodiles, while all around you can see some of the species of beautiful birds, numbering over 400, which inhabit the Kariba area.

Accommodation
The camp is owned and run by Steve Edwards and his wife, Wendy, and offers a maximum of 16 guests a wonderfully personal safari experience. Steve and Wendy welcome guests into their small piece of private Africa with such warmth.
It is their home, and there is a definite sense of coming home the moment you walk through the light and airy main area and the expansive views of Lake Kariba open out in front of you.

The accommodation at Musango is in large tents pitched under thatched awnings, each with proper beds and en-suite bathroom, with panoramic views of the lake shore and water stretching out around the island.
There is a swimming pool area and bar/lounge offering the ideal place to relax and watch game. The camp is very well run, with Wendy ensuring every guest is looked after with great grace and humour, and that the cuisines that leaves the kitchen is nothing short of its exquisite best.

Experiences
During your time at Musango you can enjoy a wide variety of activities including, game drives, walking, boating, canoeing, fishing and visits to dinosaur fossil and early Stone Age sites.
Steve is a wonderful storyteller, and a real fossil enthusiast and expert. Looking around his personally curated museum is fascinating and he will recount stories of how and where things were found, their ancient histories and the esteemed scientific bodies that have visited to study his finds.
