Location
Situated between the foot hills of the Aberdares and the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kenya, the 90,000-acre private Ol Pejeta Conservancy is an integral part of the Laikipia/Samburu ecosystem and has one of the highest wildlife densities in Kenya including all of the Big Five.

The small bush camp has just six tents, three of which are triples accommodating a total of 15 guests, each spaced well apart overlooking the river, with twin beds, en-suite toilet and bush shower (with hot water on request).

The open and airy dining and lounge tents also overlook the river and the plains beyond, while the standard of cuisine is superb and the social atmosphere around the dinner table very comforting.

As well as exciting game drives during the day and at night, a stay at Ol Pejeta also offers visitors the unique opportunity to gain an insight into modern wildlife conservation.
In liaison with the Kenyan Wildlife Service, Ol Pejeta is involved in ecological monitoring of several species of flora and fauna, while it is also the location of the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa.

In addition, Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is incorporated within the conservancy and is the only place in Kenya where this highly endangered and remarkably intelligent species can be seen.

Guests at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp can take guided visits to the sanctuary and learn about the perils facing chimpanzees in the wild, as well as venturing out to do some rhino tracking with the rangers, or even radio tracking prides of lion.

Cultural trips to local community projects and schools add yet another element to the Ol Pejeta experience.
