Beyond the main event of tracking the gorillas, you can explore the area by a wealth of other activities: discover more primate species and abundant birdlife on guided forest walks, spotting inquisitive golden monkey’s leaping through the bamboo branches. Set off mountain biking or take a hike to a spectacular viewpoint over the twin lakes – Lake Bulera and Lake Ruhondo – a beautiful sight as the two join, surrounded by steeped farmed hills.
The lodge is constructed of local stone, finished with an ochre coloured plaster. Terracotta tiled roofs give a stylish contemporary Rwandese flavour.
The main area of the lodge is a central building with reception, bar, dining room, library/games room and shop. Both the bar and dining room have extensive outdoor decks from which guests can enjoy the spectacular views.

The accommodation comprises five cottages, two suites and a family suite and all have at least one private veranda, a sitting room, bedroom, dressing room and a large modern bathroom. The family suite has an extra bedroom and en-suite. All guest rooms have large windows to make the best of the wonderful views.

By staying at Sabyinyo Siverback Lodge, guests are directly contributing to the SACOLA (Sabyinyo Community Livelihood Association) which uses rentals and community fees from the lodge to drive socio-economic and conservation initiatives in the communities adjacent to the National Park.
