Conservation
Many communities have strained relationships with neighbouring wildlife. Sand Rivers parent company, Nomad help to run campaigns aimed at changing minds and encouraging local ambassadors and young leaders to stand up for their wildlife, environment and national heritage.
Community
Nomad partners with The Hope Centre (Mugumu Village): A community focused project offering a refuge for young girls fleeing from female genital mutilation. Most of the girls only stay for a month or so, while the Hope Centre team works to reunite them with their parents. There are primary and secondary school aged girls, and others who are older and learning vocational skills in the centre.
Environment
Nomad sponsor eco-clubs throughout Tanzania giving students a practical exposure to environmental issues. The trips are also a wonderful platform for students to learn about their surrounding environment, inspiring them to learn more and take action in their own homes.
