The Sossusvlei Desert Lodge really melts into its desert surroundings, with the clever use of open spaces and glass walls, it seems that there’s nothing at all between you and the wilderness. It’s a real gem in the &Beyond group’s range.
Guests are accommodated in 10 desert villas, imaginatively designed in stone and glass, which are built into the curve of the Namib Rand escarpment. Each has a living room, a bedroom with an en suite bathroom, and a private veranda.
The main lodge has a large glass-fronted dining room where you can enjoy delicious cuisine with panoramic views of the desert. There is also a glittering pool where you can relax or swim laps between safaris. The lodge has a powerful telescope, and the clear, dry air of the region means that you can see the stars in incredible detail.

From the lodge, guides will take you on excursions by vehicle into the Sossusvlei dunes, and you can also explore the Namib Rand Private Reserve in a four wheel drive vehicle and by quad bike.
Your guides will point out fascinating desert-adapted plants birds and animals. Hot air balloon rides provide stunning sunrise views and private sundown dinners on the sand are the perfect way to end a day of adventure.

A considerable amount of daily intervention by &Beyond is required to help maintain a harmonious balance in the fragile ecosystems within which they operate. Doing things in sustainable ways allows Mother Nature to run her course and maintain this balance.
Community
&Beyond’s camps contribute to local economies through local procurement and employment. A minimum of 50% of lodge operational expenses are sourced from small local businesses, whilst at least 65% of staff are from neighboring communities.
Conservation
In Asia, we support WildlifeSOS, an Indian-based wildlife conservation charity whose mission it is to create harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife within India. With every journey we arrange to Asia, we make a donation to Wildlife SOS, 100% of which goes directly to the Kalandar Sloth Bear project.
