Location
This magnificent, tented tree lodge is located on a private 4,400-acre reserve just outside the National Park. Because the camp is set on private land, there are activities that you can enjoy here that are not possible inside the park.

Accommodation
Twenty enormous rooms capture the nostalgia of childhood treehouses, but with a luxurious and comfortable twist. They are built on huge wooden decks and elevated in and around baobab and wild fig trees.

Each imaginatively designed room boasts floor space of 65m² and has a thatched roof, large en-suite bathroom, with a exotic double shower and locally crafted furniture, blending natural materials and modern décor. There are phenomenal views of the beautiful surroundings from your open-front and private balcony.
The enchanting main lodge area is also built around a huge hollow 1000-year-old baobab tree and houses a comfortable ‘sunken’ lounge area positioned around a flickering fire pit, a bar and dining room all with views out over the surrounding area. The inviting swimming pool and viewing deck give you a fantastic view across the lush green leaves.

Experiences
  • Often taken just after dusk, a 90-minute night drive around the environs of Treetops provides a rare insight into the nocturnal wildlife that is often overlooked or not accessible to visitors who stay within the confines of the national parks.

  • There is no better way to get up close and personal to the wild than to take a guided walking safari, usually in the morning before it gets too hot, feeling the ancient earth beneath every step as you tread on the tracks of animals that have walked the same path minutes before.

  • Visit a Maasai village close to the lodge, providing a fascinating insight into the lives of the local people.
  • Dine alfresco in a traditional Maasai Boma by lantern and firelight. enjoy both world cuisine and the flavours of the bush and be delighted by the singing and dancing of the Maasai menfolk.

  • Marmalade skies at the Tarangire Treetops. Enjoy sundowner cocktails atop Sunset Hill whilst the sky bursts into an orange glow.
