Dunes Lodge is by far the most impressive of the Wolwedans’ properties, carefully located and refined in its design. It’s a very elegant looking lodge, with a smattering of antique furnishings and African curios decorating the immaculate canvas villas dotted about the site.
This is the most intimate and attractive lodge in this part of the Namib Rand Reserve. It’s perched atop a dune plateau, providing panoramic views of the surrounding area. The buildings’ canvas walls roll up so you enjoy looking across the sprawling expanse from the comfort of your room.
The main part of the lodge is comprised of two lounges with sundowner decks and a fireplace, a veranda for taking tea, two dining rooms and a wine cellar, and complete with a lovely library.

The lodge’s swimming pool is novelly suspended above the sand. There are just nine spacious chalets at Wolwedans, each with an en suite bathroom and a private veranda. Natural materials feature prominently in chalet design.
The Nature Reserve is a conservation area which the owners are careful to protect and within it live a wide range of beautiful creatures including bat-eared fox, spotted hyena, mountain and plains zebra, springbok, red hartebeest and African wildcats, among others. The beautiful ranges of dunes have fascinating desert-adapted vegetation and the area has over a 100 species of birds.
