Greater Kruger

Luxury and the Big Five

There are thousands of wildlife destinations in Africa, but few offer such a prolific wildlife experience as the Kruger. You’ll see it at its best if you stay on one of the private reserves adjoining the western border of the national park; enjoying exhilarating game drives and staying in a sumptuous safari lodge you will experience utter tranquility, with the bonus of having nobody else around.

These private reserves also have several fascinating walking trails. After breakfast, head out with experienced guides to interpret the stunning environment, this is a chance to get close to nature and experience its wonders as never before.

The lodges in the greater Kruger are some of Africa’s most spectacular, enveloping guests in an oasis of comfort, with additional facilities including gymnasiums and spas often available. When you have had your fill of awesome wildlife encounters there are also a host of other activities that can be enjoyed including hot air balloon flights, unique elephant encounters and romantic sleep outs.

Accommodation:
Singita Boulders Lodge
Singita really does have the last word in luxury safari experiences, and Singita Boulders is no exception. The location is superb, the game viewing rich, and the lodge is a model of sustainability which other properties should strive to emulate.
Accommodation:
Leopard Hills
Leopard Hills is in the world famous Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, bordering the Kruger National Park. The glass fronted suites look down onto a well frequented watering hole, so you are guaranteed to see one or more of the reserve’s Big Five without even setting foot from your suite.
Accommodation:
Singita Lebombo
Singita Lebombo Lodge is a celebration of cutting edge African design. The incredible safari experience in the Kruger National Park is ably matched by the quality of the multi level lodge, which has everything from a 25m lap pool to its very own wine studio.
Accommodation:
Tanda Tula
There’s a certain excitement which goes with spending the night under canvas, something which lodges can struggle to match. At Tanda Tula you get the best of both worlds: the novelty of a tent but the superior quality of a lodge.
Accommodation:
Royal Malewane
In the heart of the Greater Kruger is one of South Africa’s finest safari lodges. Royal Malewane is fit for the king of the jungle, and Conde Nast Traveler has rated it as one of the Best 50 Resorts in the World 2017.
