Victoria Falls is a force of nature like no other. Enthralling from both sides of the Zambian-Zimbabwean border, the most exhilarating views are from the Zimbabwean side.
Thrill-seekers can bungee-jump off the Victoria Falls Bridge. or take a bridge swing that leaves you dangling over the Batoka Gorge. Down below, explore the Grade 5 rapids on a white-water rafting expedition. The explosion of water where the falls crash onto the rocks is like facing a monsoon, so prepare to get very, very wet!
Don’t miss the remarkable 100 year old feat of engineering that is the Victoria Falls Bridge; the elegant curve of its span seemingly suspended over the storm of water below is electrifying.
There are a number of well-placed viewpoints along the cliffs opposite the falls, giving you multiple vantage points. One of our favourite spots is in the gardens of the Victoria Falls Hotel, built in 1904. Full of colonial-era charm and royal portraits, the “grand old lady of the falls” offers a sumptuous afternoon tea, with a pianist playing, as you gaze upon the mist exploding around the bridge.
