Why the Fish River Canyon?
This majestic masterpiece of nature spans more than 100 miles through southern Namibia. It’s a gorgeous site any time of year, but hiking is best between May and September when flood risk is low and heat is manageable. Highlights include a descent to Sulphur Springs, a geothermal hot spring, and the scenic Bandage Pass between the Causeway and Fool’s Gold Corner.
Fish River Canyon is a worthwhile stop during a private overland safari, and it's also possible to see from above during a scenic flight. If you’re up for a real adventure, you can embark upon a multi-day hike through the canyon with an expert local guide.
