Azura Quilalea

Mozambique

Castaway to the Azura Quilalea Private Island. Apart from the resort, this island is completely uninhabited and it floats within the flawless Quirimbas Archipelago Marine Sanctuary. Truly an untouched paradise, you can dive from the main beach, kayak through the mangroves or simply relax, swinging in a hammock strung beneath a giant baobab tree.

There are nine private villas at Azura Quilalea, or you can take the entire island for exclusive use. The villas fall into three different categories, our favourite of which is the clifftop Villa Quilalea. The villa of choice for honeymooners, it is secluded on its own part of the island and has a step ladder down the cliff to the ocean.

The four Kaskazi villas are all open plan, with stylish interiors made predominantly from natural materials: wood, pebbles, rattan and rope. You can bask in the sunshine on your private deck, cooled by the gentle sea breeze, or relax undercover on your day bed. The villas all have butler service and share use of the central lodge building, the Jellyfish Dining Room and the pool.
