Bisate Lodge

Ruhengeri, Rwanda

Bisate Lodge sits within the natural, eroded basin of an extinct forest volcano in Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park. It’s a stunning property in an unbeatable location.

Each of Bisate Lodge’s six stylishly designed Forest Villas is inspired by the shape of a gorilla nest. They are discreetly situated in the folds of the hills and have their own unique views across the Afro-Alpine forest towards the Bisoke and Karisimbi Volcanoes. Villas are furnished to the highest standards with a large lounge area, sumptuous en-suite bathroom, a bedroom with king size bed, and an inspiring veranda, overlooking the lush emerald expanse below.

The main area of the lodge is equally impressive, with a large lounge, bar, and dining area with extensive outdoor decks from which guests can enjoy the spectacular views. The structure is thatched so as to blend in with the surrounding landscape, the birds seeing it as a continuation of the forest. Roughly half of the mountain gorilla in the world live on the slopes of the Virunga Mountains and you can see them on a forest trek.
