Stay in the clouds at 2,000m above sea level: Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge boasts fabulous views and is within walking distance of the start-point for gorilla treks.
Built of local volcanic stone, each of the eight cottages at Clouds has a large sitting room with fireplace, vast overstuffed armchairs, and hand-woven carpets. There are soaring ceilings, massive exposed wooden beams, and expansive picture windows with endless views of treetops, volcanoes, and mountains. Two of the cottages are ideal for families or friends travelling together as they each have two separate bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.
The main building with reception, dining, shop, and bar area has six fireplaces to keep it cosy. Views from the main balcony area stretch across to Rwanda and the Virungas. This award-winning lodge is the highest quality lodge in Bwindi.
In addition to gorilla tracking, here we also recommend bird watching, visiting local projects and villages, and meeting the Batwa people, the native tribal inhabitants of the forest; they are happy to impart their rich knowledge of the forest with you.
