Gorilla Forest Camp

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda

The only camp within the boundaries of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Gorilla Forest Camp is the ideal base for gorilla tracking, primate viewing, and birding.

Gorilla Forest Camp has been designed to blend seamlessly into this most atmospheric of environments, carefully-appointed towards the misty valleys and looming, forest-clad mountains. Gorilla frequently wander into the camp, making for an incredibly close encounter!

Accommodation is in eight double tents, raised on wooden platforms, each with en suite facilities, hot and cold running water, and a bathtub looking out onto the forest canopy. Each tent has a spacious wooden veranda where you can relax, enjoy a private meal, and absorb the exotic mystery of the surrounding rainforest. You will be served by a personal attendant who will ensure that your stay is truly memorable.

Tracking habituated families of gorilla through the misty forests requires stamina and patience, but it’s an experience which simply cannot be missed. There are opportunities, too, for community interaction: visit the local Batwa tribes and embark on a cultural walk, learning about local tea farming and a visiting a local brewery where you will be able to try their specialty banana beer.
