The views from Kwandwe Ecca Lodge are superb: it is sat on the top of the cliffs looking down over the reserve. The vegetation is dense, but that ensures there is plenty for animals and birds to eat, and they feel safe under the cover of the trees.
The six airy accommodation units have wrap around wooden decks and you’ll breeze between the indoor and outdoor spaces. The private plunge pools and outdoor showers are dreamy on a hot afternoon, and as you have the pool to yourself, you don’t have to worry about the children disturbing other guests, there is also a shared lodge pool. The family suites sleep four people and come with a private vehicle and ranger for maximum flexibility.
Game drives in the reserve take place twice a day, in the morning and evening, and you’ll decide your route with the guide before starting out. The length and purpose of drives can be amended depending on the attention span of younger guests, for whom there is also a designated play area behind the lodge.
