One of the most impressive lodges in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kyambura Gorge Lodge is at the edge of the mysterious sunken forest of the Kyambura Gorge. From the perfectly-appointed verandas of this old coffee store, you will be treated to views of the rising moon and setting sun, an expanse of lush fields filled with wildlife, and the bathing waters of the Kazinga Channel.
Accommodation is comprised of eight wood and brick bandas, each named after a Kyambura Gorge chimpanzee, with iron sheet or thatched roofs, in keeping with the local style. The six double and two twin rooms enjoy en suite bathrooms with hot showers, a personal butler, private balconies with uninterrupted views across the ever-changing natural surroundings, and access to a refreshing swimming pool and massage area.
The stand out experience at Kyambura Gorge Lodge is chimp tracking. The small community of Kyambura chimpanzee is elusive and protected by lush forests, so it takes stamina and perseverance to find them, but when you do, it is something that will never be forgotten. Exotic endemic bird species, beautiful butterflies, and rare game also call the gorge home.
