Mount Nelson

Cape Town, South Africa

The Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel is in the vibrant centre of Cape Town and is one of the city’s finest five-star hotels. The hotel celebrated its centenary in 2018, and it retains its sense of history and grandeur: although it has been fully refurbished, many of the original architectural features, including the famous pink facade, have been carefully preserved.

Guest rooms and suites at Mount Nelson are just as lavish as you would expect. Natural light streams in through huge sash windows, many of which look out onto the gardens and pool. The decor is in tasteful neutral tones - creams and pale greens feature prominently - and carefully chosen cushions, artworks, and vases of fresh flowers underline the attention to detail which has gone in to every decision.

The Mount Nelson’s Planet Restaurant is one of the main hubs of Cape Town’s highly regarded food scene. A contemporary crystal chandelier sparkles like a galaxy of stars in the ceiling, and the specially woven carpet is also space themed. Chef Rudy Liebenberg takes diners on a journey of gastronomic discovery, showcasing the very best South African ingredients.
