The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is a truly unique place to stay. Each of the beautiful thatched huts was designed in the style of the local Maasai mud and stick manyatta houses. They may look simple from the outside, but step inside and you’ll find crimson and gold swathed interiors, giant African fire bowls, elegant antique furniture, and raw silk curtains. There is a central living area, bedroom, and bathroom, as well as a large viewing deck with breathtaking views overlooking the wildlife dotted plains of crater.
Outside of your private mudhouse, there is a central dining area and lounge, a library and board game room, and a craft shop. The lodge offers private bush breakfasts and lunches for you, highlighting a selection of delicious local cuisine.
From here you’ll enjoy fantastic game viewing drives into the crater and national park, spotting the resident antelope, elephant, lion, hippo, and more that live on the crater floor. There is also the chance to join a bush walk, a walking safari, visit to a local Maasai village, or an excursion to Olduvai Gorge.
