Pousada Rio Mutum is within an ecological paradise: you’ll be woken at dawn by the sound of birdsong, and the forest is all around you. Explore it on foot or by bicycle, or horseback then take to the water and cruise along the Cuiaba River or out across the bay. We’ll take you there by boat, jeep, or light aircraft, but be warned: you may never want to leave!
The pousada has 22 chalet-style apartments, spread out across a seven hectare site so it always feels private. Each apartment is air conditioned, and has its own private balcony with a hammock for reading or dozing on a lazy afternoon. The guest rooms are attractively decorated in bright colours, the beds are king or twin size, and there are some imaginative artworks on the walls. There is a pool and meals are served buffet style in the restaurant or can be taken al fresco.
Experienced guides take you out on thrilling safaris by motor boat, canoe and by vehicle in search of caiman, jaguar, capuchin monkeys and macaws.
