Six Senses

Thimphu, Bhutan

At Six Senses Thimphu, you will witness a juxtaposition of tradition and modernity. The interior consists of clean lines, wood panelling, and natural stone. The rooms are large and light, with handmade ornaments from the local region, repurposed wooden tables and chairs, and handwoven rugs and blankets.

Nicknamed “The Palace in the Sky”, Thimphu’s lodge is situated in a charming spot: perched on a hillside, with apple orchards to the north and pine forests to the south – here, guests are close enough to visit all the city’s major attractions, yet still able to escape from the bustle of the capital.

The spa is designed around four interconnected spaces to enhance the feeling of being on a journey. It was modelled on a typical village house from northern Thailand and as such, Thai healing practices are used to balance the senses.

There are several restaurants at the lodge, all with superb hilltop views and menus featuring delicious local produce. Guests can even enjoy cooking classes and bespoke wine tasting evenings.
