Tsala Treetop

Garden Route, South Africa

Bury yourself in the forest canopy at Tsala Treetop Lodge and you’ll feel very much part of the ecosystem, albeit with elevated views. Tsala Treetop Lodge comprises 10 exclusive suites, each with a spacious bedroom, cosy lounge, and a huge private deck complete with plunge pool. Suites are nestled into the canopy of the indigenous forests of Tsitsikama.

Set above the treetops are six two bedroom villas, ideal for families as there are two en suite bedrooms in each. The villas have indoor and outdoor showers, a lounge, and a private deck with an infinity pool. Children 10 years and older are welcome in the suites and 8 years and older in the villas.

The villas and suites are all reached via elevated wooden walkways which meander through the trees and connect them to the main area where there is a lounge, well stocked library, and a superb glass walled dining room.

Around the lodge are plenty of opportunities for wildlife interactions. Monkeyland, the Tenikwa Wild Cat Sanctuary, and an elephant sanctuary are all close by, and you can even go swimming with African fur seals. If you’ve energy and adrenalin to spare, experience the world’s highest bungee jump, go sky diving, or take a high speed boating tour. Cage diving with shark is possible, too.
