“We just kept finding them almost every time we went out – in fig trees, sausage trees, all kinds of trees!” That’s the enchantment of being on safari.

During the May to November dry season, Zambia’s South Luangwa is one of the finest places for a private, gently active safari. Shawa Camp where the Loughlins stayed has just five luxury tented rooms, set on stilts, overlooking the river.
