Camping on the ice

An intrepid experience under the stars in the world’s harshest climate

Just voyaging on a cruise to Antarctica is a mind blowing experience as you sail through totally uninhabited waters, but for a real adventure, spend a night camping out on the ice. Some people opt for tents (which is understandable!) but for the genuine experience, sleep out under a starry sky, wondering at the incredible scenery all around you. In a bivvy bag, with thermal underwear, a sleeping pad, and a polar sleeping bag, you will be as warm as toast.

You do not need to worry about disturbing the natural environment; there are strict regulations covering human interaction with Antarctica. Nothing is left behind, leaving your camping location in its beautiful, pristine state for future discerning nature lovers to enjoy.

If you have tried the Antarctic plunge and want still more excitement, a night on the ice is the ultimate adventure and a great story to tell when you get back home. And it will make you wonder just how those early explorers survived it.
