River Cruises

Wind through the magic of India’s waterways via luxurious houseboat

The Ganges. The Brahmaputra. The Backwaters. India’s waterways have gained legendary, sometimes even sacred status; such is their importance to agriculture, transport, religion, and the habits of everyday life. To cruise along these rivers is to leave urban India behind you and to see up close the rural areas, whilst staying in sumptuous surroundings.

When you embark on a unique journey through Assam on MV Rudra Singha, your own private houseboat, an entire crew will be dedicated to ensuring that you get the most from your voyage. No ordinary river cruise, the Rudra Singha accommodates just two guests onboard, and you’ll sail along the Brahmaputra past riverside villages and ghats, spotting wildlife on the way to Hindu Vaishnavite monastery of Auniati Satra.

The landscape in Kerala’s Backwaters is altogether different, but still best witnessed when you’re afloat. From Carnoustie Ayurveda, take a traditional ketuvallam houseboat from Alappuzha, the Venice of the East, and gently float through the labyrinth of canals, inlets, and lakes where the freshwater of the rivers and the salt water of the Arabian Sea meet.
