Grano de Oro’s restaurant is the hotel’s crowning glory. Locals have been coming here for decades, and tourists come to San José just to eat here. It serves French and Mediterranean cuisine with tropical influences, served in an air of genteel glamour.Eat inside the period dining room, or outside in the inner courtyard. Grano de Oro is famous for its decadent desserts, which expertly combine coffee and chocolate flavours. Enjoy selecting the perfect wine to complement your food from the lovingly stocked cellar.

  • Central (a 15 minute walk from the hotel) for an authentic local experience. Coffee lovers may wish to take a longer educational tour arranged through the hotel.

  • Visit the private rainforest reserve of La Virgen del Socorro on a day tour that will also take you to a local cacao plantation.
